Escorts Kubota Tractor Sales Grew by 1% for June 2024

Escorts Kubota Limited's Agri Machinery Business Division reported selling 9,593 tractors in June 2024, compared to 9,850 tractors in June 2023. Despite the overall decrease, domestic sales showed positive growth.

Domestic tractor sales for June 2024 were at 9,359 tractors, marking a 1% increase from the 9,270 tractors sold in June 2023. The delayed start of the retail season in key markets is expected to extend into July. With the monsoon progressing well and continued government support, including an increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP), demand is anticipated to improve in the coming months.

Export tractor sales, however, saw a decline. In June 2024, only 234 tractors were exported, compared to 580 tractors in June 2023.

For the first quarter of the financial year (April to June), domestic sales were slightly down by 1.9%, with 24,759 tractors sold in FY25 compared to 25,226 in FY24. Export sales also decreased by 29.1%, from 1,356 tractors in FY24 to 961 tractors in FY25. Overall, total sales for the first quarter declined by 3.2%, from 26,582 tractors in FY24 to 25,720 tractors in FY25.

Construction Equipment Sector 

Escorts Kubota Limited's Construction Equipment Business Division sold 440 machines in June 2024, a decrease from 491 machines sold in June 2023. The slowdown in construction activities is attributed to the timely and good monsoon progress and the formation and stabilization of the government post-elections.

However, with the government's ongoing focus on infrastructure development, demand is expected to improve after the monsoon season. For the first quarter of FY25 (April to June), total sales were 1,325 machines, down from 1,373 machines in FY24, reflecting a 3.5% decrease.
