Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has announced that Shri Ashish Kundra, a non-executive Director, has vacated his office.This decision comes as a result of Kundra's failure to attend all board meetings in the past twelve months, in accordance with Section 167 of the Companies Act, 2013. Consequently, his position became vacant effective June 21, 2024.
The company has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of this development. Indraprastha Gas Limited is now expected to address this vacancy in the upcoming board meetings.

About Ashish Kundra
The Board of Directors of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) had appointed Shri Ashish Kundra, IAS, as an Additional Director effective March 26, 2021. Ashish Kundra, an IAS officer of the 1996 batch, currently serves as Principal Secretary-cum-Commissioner (Transport) for the Government of NCT of Delhi. Ms. Manisha Saxena has stepped down from her role as Director on the same date.
Kundra brings over twenty-six years of leadership experience, having served in various governmental roles across Chandigarh, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, and New Delhi.
He has also been the Private Secretary to the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry. An IIT-BHU electronics engineering graduate, Kundra is known for his efforts in promoting electric mobility in Delhi and for his writings on Northeast India.
Due to his indefinite absence for the past 12 months in the board meetings, the company removed him from his post according to SEBI norms.

Incorporated in 1998, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) took over the Delhi City Gas Distribution Project from GAIL (India) Limited (formerly Gas Authority of India Limited) in 1999. The project was initiated to establish a network for distributing natural gas to consumers in the domestic, transport, and commercial sectors within the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
Supported by strong promoters, GAIL (India) Ltd. and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), IGL aims to provide natural gas across the entire capital region.
