RITES has announced that the Public Works Roads Department (PWRD) of the Government of Assam has awarded us a significant contract for consultancy services. This contract involves Third Party Monitoring & Quality Control for 47 roads, covering a total length of 996.70 kilometers, under the Asom Mala 2.0 program for the year 2023-24.

The contract, valued at ₹50.18 crore (inclusive of 18% GST), will span 18 months and ensure the highest standards of quality and monitoring for the successful completion of the roadworks.

Asom Mala 2.0

Under the flagship 'Asom Mala' program, Assam has seen a significant improvement in road infrastructure. Building on this success, the state is now set to launch Asom Mala 2.0.

  

The Assam government has given in-principle approval for the construction of 1,000 kilometers of roads across the state under the Asom Mala 2.0 project. This new initiative is estimated to cost ₹3,500 crore. The project will involve the upgradation of existing roads to two-lane carriageways, taking into consideration the availability of land.



With this project, Assam aims to further boost its road network, making travel safer and more efficient for its residents. The government's investment in infrastructure is expected to drive economic growth and development in the region.
