The company plays a key role in operating the inter-regional power networks with 86% directly operated by the company. The company's 51.34% is held by the government of India and the remaining share is held by the public. The company is now working towards diversification with smart Grids and energy efficiency.

Power Grid Corporation released its Q4 results on the 22nd of May late evening with 12,254 crore Rs for total income and profit after tax is ₹ 4,128 crore Rs on a standalone basis.

The total expense is 7,045.51 crore Rs which is Rs 88.57 crore higher than the previous year's same quarter. The company’s paid-up equity share capital is 9,300.6 for Q4 and for Q4 2023 the amount is Rs 6,975.45 Crore. 

In the overall financial year 2024, the company has done exceptionally well by doing the 19,720 MVA (Mega Volt-Ampere) transformation capacity, 6 sub-stations and 4,036 Ckm (circuit Kilometers) transmission lines for this financial year.

At the end of this FY, the company has a total of 1,77,699 Ckm (circuit Kilometers) of transmission lines, 278 substations, and 5,27,446 MVA of transformation capacity. The company has done exceptionally well by giving enormous dividends amount to the Ministry of Power on March 5th, 2024. The company has 2067.68 Cr Rs given to them as a second interim dividend for this financial year 2024.

The company is giving the 27.50% as the final dividend with a face value of rs 2.75Rs  with each of 10 Rs value in addition to the first & second interim dividends of ₹ 8.50/- per share for the FY24 has been already paid . The total dividend for the year is  ₹ 11.25 per share which is 1.69% higher compared with the previous year adjusted for bonus.
